Main usage

(1)Item No.: PD-07, use calcium sulfate dihydrate. Formula: CaSO₄·2H₂O(two water form of calcium sulfate, containing about 20% crystal water). As a coagulant, it is used for powder formulations algal acid salt impression materials and also can be used as cementing agent which used for paste formulations algal acid salt impression materials.

 (2) Item No.: PH-08, use calcium sulfate hemihydrate. Formula: CaSO₄·1/2H₂O(hemihydrate form of calcium sulfate, containing about 6% crystal water), as cementing agent, it is applicable to paste formulations algal acid salt impression materials.

Calcium sulfate dihydrate is most used in paste form alginate impression material. Because of calcium sulfate hemihydrate(gypsum) powder have not enough water, it is easy to absorb the moisture in alginate paste and turn to rough piece of grain. But when there is enough water in the paste, calcium sulfate hemihydrate(gypsum) powder can be also used as cementing agent.
